Losing hope (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by adventur3unknown
Do you ever loose all hope in a green bean? She's been working for the siren for 4 months now (licensed kiosk) and was only certified because our coffee specialist forced us to. She barely knows any drinks, and has to consult the personalized drink flashcards our lead barista made for her all the time. I get everyone takes a different amount of time but at 4 months in you should know a pink drink gets coconut milk, and how to make frappuccinos. At this point most of us are just waiting for her to f up so bad that she gets fired.

We have someone at my store that is like this on bar but she is a rockstar on drive. She has a way of laughing when someone is being the biggest jerk to her. It makes me warm inside because I’m sure it burns their evil souls to hear that laugh. My point, though, is that everyone has some strengths in spite of their weaknesses. The key is to find the strengths and use them. (But I do hope they improve on bar eventually)

Unfortunately we are a licensed kiosk so her options are basically register or bar, neither are her strength, we are all kind of at a lose on what more we can do to help her.

I felt like I read this post before. Well eventually she will get it right

Green beans aren’t the same like they used to be. By month 4 I was forced to do drive & bar for myself while my ASM & lead (yes, they’re BFF4L) were talking in the back about their alcoholic adventures

That situation, you kind of have to be a hard ass & let them know that they gotta know these drinks without the cards. But I would too wait for them to mess up badly enough to get fired or even breakdown to the point they quit. They won’t be the first & definitely won’t be the last with this company tbh 🤷🏽
