attached: real image of me trying to remove a lemon/red velvet loaf from its packaging without destroying it (i.redd.it)

it's either that or getting the pumpkin from the oven into a pastry bag before it literally falls apart midway
leeblissy [OP] 21 points 1y ago
YEAH THAT TOO why is it ONLY the banana but loaf that doesn't give us consistent problems o/-<
SportsChick79 3 points 1y ago
I had a banana loaf fall part in 3 pieces today. It was the weirdest thing.
leeblissy [OP] 3 points 1y ago
in THREE? damn that IS weird
livinlikeluis 4 points 1y ago
I grab it from the sides when when I pull it out I turn it vertically with the tongs to prevent it from falling apart
herpaslurp 1 points 1y ago
😭
ryzzostar 21 points 1y ago
Open the bottom of the package, either with your hands or scissors, put the open bottom of the package in the pastry bag, pull and jiggle the top of the package until the loaf falls into the bag. No mess, no broken loaf, no tongs necessary. You're welcome. ❤
dazedinreverse 31 points 1y ago
Ive tried this method and its 50/50 chance of crumbling as it slides out.
leeblissy [OP] 7 points 1y ago
I was about to say the same thing lol, I havent had that much luck with it 🤧
crzyshiba 6 points 1y ago
Oh as you lift up the plastic their goes half my lemon loaf haha
ryzzostar -1 points 1y ago
I have a feeling y'all are being too rough? I've only ever had one fall apart on me and I've been with sb for 2 years. You gotta be gentle though.
starrrrrfruittttt 2 points 1y ago
agreed! i’ve been at sb since august 2021 and this is my method and i’ve only broken one and that was before i had this method.
jcduckduck 1 points 1y ago
Your 4 downvotes say it all haha
uncomfortableaf008 4 points 1y ago
This. But also if you tear the bottom open then tear it down the side you can kinda slide it in the bag better. The side being open is critical for me atleast lol
leeblissy [OP] 1 points 1y ago
yea I do basically the same thing. I rip the top open and lay it on the counter and rip it down the seam and grab it by the sides w the tongs and most of the time that works just fine but it still feels like operation lol
ryzzostar 1 points 1y ago
Yes that works too. Half the time when I open the bottom it just tears up the side automatically.
makmelaf17 0 points 1y ago
I do the same thing only thing I do differently with RVL & LL is u use the tong to put in bag.. just don't grab the icing much
create_consciousness 15 points 1y ago
Leave it in the plastic and let them deal with it? I haven’t had complains. Some actually appreciate it
alW8144 3 points 1y ago
Me too! I know it's not standard. But honestly, most customers prefer it anyway. The less we have to handle their food, the cleaner...you know??
pranasoup 10 points 1y ago
at least it doesn’t come in a gd inner pack anymore
leeblissy [OP] 8 points 1y ago
wait ive only been w sbux for a few months tell me about those inner packs cuz that sounds dreadful LMAO
Cautious_Ad_3559 7 points 1y ago
The lemon loaf used to be in the rectangular pack of maybe five. The bottom half would just disintegrated
Necessary_Low939 1 points 1y ago
I was there when they did it like this. So annoying. P
pranasoup 6 points 1y ago
like someone else mentioned it came in a rectangular pack with multiple pieces, including the small ends that you still see individually wrapped. like the cake pops and muffins come from the freezer “case” in an “inner pack” instead of “eaches.” it was dreadful. trying to get your tongs into the box without breaking the bread or icing… just no.
leeblissy [OP] 1 points 1y ago
oh noooo that sounds terrible 😭 there's GOT to be a better way 💀
pranasoup 1 points 1y ago
86 LEMON LOAF 4EVER
dead-ramone 9 points 1y ago
Open the package completely, like flat, so the loaf is sitting in the middle of the plastic. Pick it up using the package as a scoop and you can slide it into the bag much easier. I’ve had fewer disasters with this method haha
899thKorok 2 points 1y ago
This is the way.
Necessary_Low939 6 points 1y ago
I just put the whole thing in the pastry bag. When they ask why not take it out, I said it’s more fresh this way with a smile beaming through my mask 😊😊😊
enby_lesbian 5 points 1y ago
'less chance of cross contamination! :)'
Necessary_Low939 3 points 1y ago
Yaaaassssss
What1sgr3y 5 points 1y ago
we’re supposed to take them out..? 🧍‍♀️ no one at my store does
leeblissy [OP] 3 points 1y ago
at my store its like. against policy or smth to leave them in unless the customer asks specifically to do that. idgi, leaving it in the package seems like the better option?? but oh well
pinkjortz 5 points 1y ago
I swear, sometimes it just explodes in your hands.
leeblissy [OP] 8 points 1y ago
if you haven't opened the too of it all the way AND destroyed the sides of the packaging in order to get a better chance at taking it out then god help you 😭
Weird-Abalone-2008 4 points 1y ago
OR THE COFFEE CAKE
leeblissy [OP] 3 points 1y ago
GODDD SO TRUE tho I feel like the coffee cake crumbling is not AS consequential as one of the loaves cuz theyre waaaay more obvious 💀
Illustrious-Air9834 2 points 1y ago
Coffee cake is actually the MOST difficult in my opinion
peternal_pansel 3 points 1y ago
I literally do not gaf, I slide that plastic wrapped lemon loaf into a pastry bag and send it out the door. No I will not heat that up for you.
Decent_Wall1380 3 points 1y ago
my store just has us give it to them in the packaging if possible
sh3nan1gans_ 3 points 1y ago
That or trying to get four egg bites out of the oven without dropping them
leeblissy [OP] 1 points 1y ago
that ones tricky but I actually figured that one out!! I grab two bites from the sides and drop em immediately into the egg tray and then grab the last two from the oven like normal. now I just gotta figure out how to put four bites INTO the oven without my life flashing before my eyes 💀
goofball27 3 points 1y ago
At least we get to “sample” them when they break! 😁
AUserNameThatsTaken1 2 points 1y ago
When you rip open a package but it also rips open the loaf
herpaslurp 2 points 1y ago
i always announce i'm doing surgery when i'm opening up one of those frosted loaves
monicamac52 2 points 1y ago
🤣🤣🤣
LitbykristenPhoto 1 points 1y ago
So…we just cut ours…
ArialynnSilver 1 points 1y ago
I literally open the package around the loaf then bag it
LoanFar6754 1 points 1y ago
omggg always the lemon loaf
katevendetta 1 points 1y ago
I feel this in my soul.
TH00TN00T 0 points 1y ago
Open the bag and rip off one side of the large flat face of the loaf. Hold the loaf in your hand with the plastic side and put the load and your hand in the bag, turn the bag over so the loaf is down in the bag and your hand and plastic are on top and remove
leeblissy [OP] 1 points 1y ago
you had me in the first half but I am NOT putting my hand into someone's pastry bag 😭
TH00TN00T 1 points 1y ago
Lol maybe not in cuz that’s unsanitary but it’s definitely an easy way to do it
