Does anyone else think toasted vanilla is more of a winter flavor and not spring? I wish we would have gotten something that just screamed spring like lavender or something. The toasted vanilla just tastes like a candle.
monicamac5251 points1y ago
ugh…yes…lavender 😩
FearlessSentence966749 points1y ago
i want a lavender syrup SO BAD and it would be much more spring-y. i LOVE floral flavors, i could make a whole menu if they just gave me lavender and rose syrups, but instead we got a boring vanilla flavor that tastes like the smell of a candle and is just a worse version of a flavor palette we already have

I know me too! Plus I think they could make lavender a big deal and even put lavender designs on new tumblers to buy, and there’s so many drink options with it
cooterbrows13 points1y ago
every day i think about how much i wish i could make a london fog with lavender and vanilla lol
Lies_a [OP]5 points1y ago
You can even make a knock off iced one with lavender, unsweet tea, milk and honey
vroommmmmmm5 points1y ago
let’s be real tho- sbux would fuck up any floral and turn a lot of people off the idea of it i think.

It gives me like, Marshmallow vibes
claretamazon5 points1y ago
In a frap by itself or with a mocha frap it definitely tastes like marshmallows.
alW81441 points1y ago
Yep... the blackened, burnt part on the outside of a marshmallow that caught in the campfire lol

I think it tastes like sugar cookie

Toasted vanilla tastes like perfume. It has ruined every drink I've put it in - including chai. Doesn't matter how much or little I use. This further supports my belief that the folks in charge of designing these syrups/drinks don't actually taste them first. (Lookin' at you cold brew lemonade.)
kaefeen6 points1y ago
yesss ppl would go crazy for lavender
Necessary_Low9396 points1y ago
I think candle taste better than that syrup 🥴

Does anyone else feel like the Irish cream should have came out now and the toasted vanilla could have came out in winter if it had to come out at all
iStealSharpies4 points1y ago
My opinion probably doesn’t matter because I only drink black cold brews, but most of the new syrups they come up with are really artificial tasting. Irish cream is awful, sugar cookie smells soooo good but tastes like chemicals, this new toasted vanilla tastes funky to me… they need to make some actual good tasting syrup that can be properly featured and advertised 😭

we had a trainer and a trainee last night which made for a total of six people on the floor and had a little competition to see who could make the best drink with the toasted vanilla……..nobody won
emileeavi3 points1y ago
I have no idea what lavender tastes like but now I wanna try something lavender flavored.
diphenhydranautical3 points1y ago
iced lavender oatmilk latte is EVERYTHING
also lavender lemonade or rose lemonade is to die for
clipkate3 points1y ago

Electrical_Metal_1063 points1y ago

Malachite_Migranes3 points1y ago
If you put it in cold foam it taste like frosting.

I’m TELLING YOU GUYS WE NEED LAVENDER!!!!!! It would be a hit, the torani lavender syrup tastes so good so just copying it would be ideal. And it’s Purple!! So the tik tok/insta people who order things just to take pictures of the pretty colors will love it!!!!
Jessi43942 points1y ago
I feel like I’m the only one who kinda vibes with the toasted vanilla 🥲 I think it’s kinda good as is or with a pump of toasted white mocha to kick it up a notch.
sh3nan1gans_2 points1y ago
It tastes like vanilla chapstick

I definitely called it a grande triple wick Yankee candle more than once during today’s shift (and “triple wick Yankee candle” was a tongue twister for some reason.
philosopher_cat_lady1 points1y ago
I guess so, but the thing about the toasted vanilla that no one is talking about is that toasted vanilla is French vanilla. We simulated French vanilla at Starbucks with vanilla and hazelnut, but an authentic French vanilla is a toasted one. So it's really not a seasonal flavor at all, French vanilla is pretty ubiquitous. I also haven't seen anyone say they like the drink, so I'll be the first to say that too!
zenallim2 points1y ago
Yes! It does taste like French vanilla!
philosopher_cat_lady1 points1y ago
I think it's delicious, I don't understand everyone's criticisms. I ordered the drink with almond milk today, I thought it paired better.
