Advice? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by significant_loan-_-
Hey guys so I hit my head (at work) and they're denying my claim, I'm not fit to return to work as stated by my doctor (in writing) but I also don't qualify for short term disability cause I've been working only three plus months so I have to go on unpaid leave. I cannot afford that, like at all my rent is over $1000 is due at the end of the month and I have $300 to my name, I guess I'm just looking for advice on how to proceed because I'm gonna try and repeal it but I don't know if they're gonna listen?

Depending on how long you are unfit to work you might wanna try to apply for partial unemployment

Is they Sedgwick? If so there is a process to appeal your denial. Have you received that paperwork yet? Is the doctor note in writing an official legal compliance to workers comp note? It’s a special form or just a regular note. Unpaid leave would be 3+ days missed after all sick time is exhausted. Are you out for an extended period?
