I know Starbucks doesn't typically do merit raises... but has anyone had any luck asking their SM or DM for a raise? I have been with the company for over six months. I have open availability and work over 30 hours a week, which is a lot for any partner at my store. Management always relies on me to pick up shifts when they ask or work nights when no one wants to. I am fed up with working nights since we are always understaffed and I end up doing the work of about 3-4 people. And they also schedule younger, newer people during nights so I end up picking up their slack so to speak since they are less experienced or comfortable in the job. It doesn't feel right to get paid the same amount and consistently deal with this type of thing. My coworkers all think I deserve a raise, but I'm not sure the best way to go about getting one. Any tips?

I go through the same exact thing. I joke around with my fellow baristas saying “ I need to get paid 24/36 a hour all the partners roles I be filling “ I work at multiple stores and always pick up shifts too. Well let me know how that turns out so I can try

I had a manager say they tried to give a raise and they almost immediately got a call from corporate who said something to the affect of, 'trust me, it'll be better for you if you just say it was an accident.'

Wow that's really something. I just don't understand this company. Apparently people at my store have been getting raises by "threatening to quit."
