I’m normally pretty patient when it comes to this stuff having worked in customer service for 5 years, but lately WHAT IS IT WITH CUSTOMERS?! They have been the nastiest, most inconsiderate, self-serving people I’ve ever seen, and a lot of them feel as if because they had a long day/week they can take it out on someone who is forced to deal with their temper tantrums over $7 coffee. Today, I greeted a lady with “hi welcome in, how’s your day so far?” And with no words or acknowledgement, she puts her phone in my face on a TikTok and says “I want this”
Mildly infuriating, but nothing compared to a regular we have. She wants a quad shot in a frappucino and since it gets watery, she wants the extra. It’s common practice to dump whatever doesn’t fit in the cup, since you’re paying for a Venti, but she didn’t feel that way. For days in a row she harassed and cussed out baristas over this, eventually calling our DM and he finally gave in and told us we needed to do it. Today, she came through my drive through and one of our baristas did not know about our new rule-bending, and dumped the frap. Before I could explain that I was actively making her an extra frap on the house, she snapped and threw insults. Has anyone else been experiencing more and more rude/belittling customers?
TLDR - customers have been so hateful and rude and I’m not sure why.
