Non-Coverage vs Coverage? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rosemary452
What's the difference between the hours?? My manager had to just switch an hour of my work time to Coverage, saying he didn't have enough Non-Coverage to give out. Is that bad??

Makes no difference. It's a labor code for reporting. You get paid the same either way.

Thank you! I just saw other threads talking about it so I just wanted to make sure there's no pay difference or anything.

Noncoverage means just that. You're being paid to work off the floor. They were just letting you know they were reallocating your time to another code. Our noncoverage budget has been cut drastically, as well as making sure our labor forecast matches what we schedule. You get tips for both allotments.

FYI This is a company wide thing that's happening and not just a specific district or area. SMs are literally using their PTO to give partners hours, knowing it's already tough to hand them out.

Thank you so much! I feel bad for SMs who have to do that :( they shouldn't have to in the first place
