i start training tomorrow, im pretty nervous about it— anything i should know? also since it’s my first day how should i go about getting my drink and food before my shift / during my break? since i don’t know how to make anything yet and (seriously) don’t want to ask anyone to make anything for me how should i go about that?

Always remember that it’s just coffee. It just got water and bean. I’m pretty sure that the other baristas will do it for you just make sure that you have your partner number

okay, thank you so much!

You can put your numbers on the starbucks app on your phone which also makes it a lot easier when using it especially in drive since it can just be scanned :) the window gets really loud sometimes with the fan and headset on

if you go to starbucks.com (i did it on my phone and it was easier) go to sign in with the information you used for the app, and it should have the add card info and your numbers can be put like that

When I first started to remember my numbers I taped them on to the back of my name plate so I could just look down if I ever forgot them, 5 months in now and I don’t need it anymore but I still have them there:) but don’t worry about having other people make your things for you until you’re on the floor learning bar. After my trainer took me in bar the next two months I was always eager to make my own drink so I could get in extra practice. But your first two days will most likely be just modules unless they really need you on the floor if they’re understaffed which has unfortunately happened to a few trainees at my location. Good luck!

i actually already remember my numbers surprisingly, considering i got them just yesterday. but thank you for letting me know all of this, i appreciate it!

If it’s your true 100% first day your numbers aren’t likely to work anyway. The shifts or SM just take care of it for new hires in my store so they still can get food/drink. I mean we offer people drinks if they are earlier for interviews too. No one minds making a drink for each other - just don’t order something with like 8 modifications.
goddessofwaterpolo1 points1y ago
Yeah don’t start on the 8 modifiers until you’ve been here at least a month and know people LOL a few of my partners have some wild drinks but it’s fine bc they are patient and we know them.

okay thank you so much!!!

For your food and drink markout you will order at register (make sure you have your partner number) and the barista on bar will make the drink for you. Policy is that you shouldn’t really make your own drink anyway. They’ll give you your food/ drink just like they would a customer, nothing to worry about! As for training, pay attention to the modules and don’t be afraid to ask any and all questions you have! You’ll still be learning for at least a month, so don’t worry if you forget things.

okay thank you so much!!!

Aw welcome aboard. Listen, I don’t know about your coworkers, but I like making drinks for the green beans. Not to mention if they’re busy on bar they might have to.
If you want a simple drink to make or ask for, try an iced caramel macchiato or an iced chai. Please don’t be nervous about asking the bar baristas to make your drink- it’s their job! Your trainer will show you how to appropriately mark it out. (Just realized this is a day late but still!)
You’re going to do great, deep breaths. Try not to let stress overwhelm you. It’s just coffee.
mommiess [OP]2 points1y ago
it’s okay, it’s just in time because i actually start in the afternoon. Than you so much, you’re so sweet!
goddessofwaterpolo1 points1y ago
You’re welcome. Don’t stress that you aren’t going to memorize everything right away. Memory comes from experience and speed comes with time. Just pay attention and have an open mind to learning. Good luck in your training!
