I’m feeling the same! Especially because unvaccinated partners don’t have to wear them anymore either which seems like a strange decision. I’ll continue to wear one because I have a high risk newborn nephew that has some complicated surgeries coming up.

safety and practicality aside, i just like having most of my face covered. it eases my social anxiety a bit, plus it helps hide how annoyed i am at the assholes 👌🏻 but real talk, i’m not sure how i feel about their decision, but i’m certainly going to keep wearing them at work. we interact with far too many people every shift for me to feel morally okay with not wearing a mask. we have no idea who these people are, nor how healthy they are. literally anybody could have the virus. not to mention how many obviously sick people decide to grace us with their diseased presence 🙃 so yeah, i’m keeping the mask.
edit: if i forget to bring one one day, and they stop providing us with them (which i’m assuming they will, now that they’re not required to work), i’ll be chill not wearing it that one time. but i’m certainly not planning on making a habit of it

I'll be wearing my mask. Maybe forever. I've only been sick ONCE in two years when my usual was 4-5 colds of varying awfulness a year. I'm good people are nasty and I shouldn't have to be exposed to those germs :)

I’m currently out sick (tested negative for covid) but it’s the first time I’ve been sick (aside from shingles in Sept 2020) since the pandemic began. I will continue wearing my mask. I think this is dumb considering stealth omicron cases are starting to rise and there’s no knowing what the next variant will bring.

As someone who very often works drive thru and works in healthcare, I have seen people hack all over the place and do all kinds of other things with disregard to anyone else, I will happily keep wearing my mask.

This is so weird. I had a COVID exposure last Tuesday, and because my BOOSTER shot was over 5 months ago, Starbucks made me stay home till at least Saturday, and now partners don’t need to wear masks…just doesn’t make sense

I’m immunocompromised and and will continue to wear mine (at my doctor’s recommendation). I am also quad vaxxed at this point as well, so I am slightly less concerned with unmasked folks around me than before.

I'm very ready. Cases are pretty much nonexistent in my area, and Starbucks is the only place (minus places like the doctors office) where it is required, so I'm all for it. If people want to wear one, they should be able to do so without any judgment or commentary. Sounds like most of my store feels the same way, but some will still wear theirs for a little bit to see how it goes.

I can't wait to get covid for the second time because other people don't wanna get vaccinated and like to cough everywhere. So excited.

If I could trust people to mask when they have a cold or some other illness that could be transmitted to me or others - then I might be more willing to unmask as I am fully vaccinated and boosted.

However, I am realizing I don’t trust people and this is the beginning of the end encouraging people to stay home when they are sick. Soon if not already it will be high fevers, diarrhea, or vomiting will be the only “good enough” reasons for calling in and being sick - and many of us cannot afford to call in anyway so many will “have” to come to work sick.

Secondary point our customers who may come in for a coffee may be having to do (they may just need a coffee or tea because they are being “forced” to go to work sick and want something normal. . . Or to make themselves feel better but that is really a separate issue of feeling “forced” to work unless we are on our death beds that has something to do with capitalism and 🤬 but yeah. . .

I’m definitely upset especially the fine print about them taking away isolation pay. I don’t have near enough sick hours to cover even two days of a bad stomach bug much less an isolation or bout with Covid .

It’s been so back and forth for a while now. So I’m taking it with a grain of salt. So many stores aren’t requiring masks anymore, so I’m not sure about this.

Wow, that’s bullshit… I just worry about my reproductive health… nobody knows for sure how getting Covid or long Covid affects the reproductive system and I’m trying to have a kid with my partner in the next few years.

I am so happy we get to not wear masks any more. I never wear a mask besides at work. I never have. I only wear them at work because I get paid to wear it.

My city is in stage 2 covid restrictions. Stage 1 is "literally nothing", so we're just a single step up from that. I am fully vaccinated and boosted with no health risks. At this point, I wear a mask at work, and other than that I only wear it to be polite when there are signs on doors asking people to wear a mask. Grocery shopping, visiting friends, and daily activities I've slowly stopped wearing one. It's an accessory not currently necessary -- just like scarves or sunglasses aren't always necessary accessories. Am I going to keep them and wear them when common sense or decency require, of course. But I'm not going to wear it constantly with no practical reason to.

That isn't a commentary on other people's choices. If you feel that you want or need to wear a mask at all times, by all means. I will not judge you, or mock you, or think less of you. I cover my hair when I'm out of the house; I understand both compulsions and personal requirements. This is a point now where I feel like we all need to respect each other's decisions.

I haven't seen the update yet, but honestly, I don't care either way. I'm triple vaxxed and so is my entire family. And in the back office and after closing, me and all my partners take our masks off anyway. Especially on night shift (my shift), everyone is friends and we hang out outside of work anyway.

I will continue masking. I visit my frail grandparents once a week and also have kids that are too young to be vaccinated. To add, I have social anxiety and make faces to rude people, yawn etc under my mask. I’m just all around more comfortable wearing it.

I’m happy to be able to make the choice. There are times when I’d rather have it off. I get crazy headaches because I have to hold my mouth open under the mask because it keeps riding up. But I’m thinking that I’d rather have it on when working drive and front. People are really gross with their touching my hand while I hand out drinks and coughing/sneezing. Also, we have a lot of homeless and drug addicted people that come into our cafe and they don’t have the best hygiene or manners sometimes.

I’m 50/50. I like my mask on for not getting sick reasons. We have a couple of partners who are ahead of hearing who can lip read. They will greatly benefit from a lot of partners not wearing masks anymore.
