Is my manager allowed to take my days off away without asking? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by FeralMothMan2
I'm a fairly new partner at starbucks.
I had made plans for this upcoming weekend since I had the weekend off. I just received a notification that my schedule was changed. My store manager had put me on for Sunday despite it being free two weeks ago.

I'm not really complaining since I need the money right now and I'm grateful for my hours but it just seems weird he didn't say anything. All other managers I've had have always asked me first. Is this normal for starbucks?

Once the schedule is posted by Federal Labor Law they have to ask you if it’s ok to change your posted schedule. If not they can get in trouble

Depends on your state unfortunately:/

Not the federal labor law. That over rides state. I’ve been a store manger for years

(Do you have the schedule app SBUXPartnerHrs) cause if you do, that then leads to the question are you open on that day? Though it is a courtesy to ask usually, it’s mostly for unavailable days. If your open on that day or you previously stated your open on certain days of the week, it’s usually kosher to punch you in for days u say ur open. If not on the app, then just communicate you like to be asked first before being added unless they are a total shitheel, they should understand
