I’ve only seen it done once. From my understanding there’s like a cleaning tablet you just… grind through it. Grind some beans after just to make sure all of it is out and that’s it?
brosoco 2 points 1y ago
I’m not even sure if we have it at our store
kiimmytran 3 points 1y ago

Do you mean the grinder inside the espresso machine? Or the one that grinds bulk coffee for drip/etc?

The latter you can take the plates out. Unplug it, open the top and look inside, use a screw driver. Reverse to put it together again. Calibrating takes a little effort but it's not too bad. There should be directions in the internal online portal thing, but I would check with another store in your district to see if anyone there has done it and can show you, that way you aren't playing IKEA with a really critical piece of equipment you've never taken apart.

The big coffee grinder uses grind everyday and a deep clean during clean play once a week. You use a screw driver to very carefully take the top off. There are 2 screws outside. And 4 inside for the blades. do not drop them inside 😭 or lose them. Trust me its a pain.

And take the top half of the blades off. They are extremely expensive and sharp so be careful.
Use wooden coffee stirrers and paper towels ONLY inside. Not water. No cleaning solution. You just want to clean the oily coffee debree that builds up inside the grinder and on the blades. And very gently scrape it out.

Then put it all back together snug. ❤️

There should be a step by step guide in the computer if you need more visualization.

The vacuum, which is alarming since my store used it to clean the floor sometimes. It supposed to be used for surfaces only tho

It should be done before closing every day. What kind of espresso machines do you have? The orange or silver one. The methods are a bit different.
