Music is always a good go to. Occasionally the Starbucks I work at even plays a few decent tracks. They played a Massive Attack song the other day and I couldn’t help but chat about it with my other coworkers. If you are there as often and regularly as you say you are and spend time in the lobby, chilling, just see if you can over hear anything that they are talking about amongst themselves. I know I usually keep it friendly and funny when customers are in the store but in those early morning hours when we are still trying to wake up to help y’all wake up, those are some of the best times I spend with my baristas. Just talking about weather and recent vacations or future plans/goals. Especially with the weathering getting warmer where I live, I love sharing my excitement in what I have planned for the spring and summer. And noticing small things or even learning a name of your barista is a first good step. 😊
