Do we get out tips from the app? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been working at Starbucks for almost a year and still don’t know if we get our tips from the Starbucks app, and nobody has a clear answer to my question.

I’ve also wondered this. If someone tips you directly on the app and you’re signed into the register, does it go directly towards you or does it somehow get divided between partners in the system?

All tips are calculated and then doled out to partner per hours worked. So at the end of the week if there was $100 in tips and 100 labor hours, it would be a $1 a labor hour and you would get $1 for every hour you worked.

yeah, i thought it was only for physical money that this happens. so, regardless of whether the tips are electronic or physical, the process of dividing the tips is the same way?

Yep! The only difference in cash tips we collect once a week in person and app tips we get on our pay check.
