Customers spilling hot drinks on themselves in DT(self.starbucksbaristas)

How do you guys deal with this-
I see this time and time again. Customers take their drinks from window too quickly, not paying attention, and end up spilling it on themselves. Whether they hit it on the roof of their car, or on their steering wheel.
Normally customers are super nice, but this lady took the drink from me SO FAST. And she slammed her arm on her steering wheel in the process and spilt her extra hot latte all down her.
I of course am shocked too and trying to get her napkins. In the time frame of me getting her napkins she’s cursing, calling me a “F*cking c*nt for spilling on her.” And told me I was a “slow f*ck” while I was trying to reach the napkins for her.
All this while solo drive thru at 7am.
I’ve had lots of customers spill drinks down themselves, but how is it my fault once you’ve taken it from me and have it in your vehicle?
-I also double check all lids. This one was on. She moved so quickly then just slammed it on her steering wheel.

Honestly she just sounds like a miserable woman. If you’ve checked the lid and done everything in your power to hand it to her carefully then once it’s in her hands it’s her problem. 😒

Had this happen recently, someone didn't want to open their window all the way and the drink hit the car and lid popped off as they brought it in. I didn't apologize because it clearly wasn't my fault, I just asked if she was okay and handed her some napkins and asked if she wanted a new lid. It's clearly a hot drink and the lid can easily pop on or off....

i can't stand when customers park far away from the window and are talking on the phone while barely acknowledging you and wimply hold out their hand for their drink, i will wait until they turn their whole body and extend out. no way am i hanging out the window for them to drop their drink and ask for a remake or blame me it's so weird.

You roll your eyes as if I can do that after I’ve handed the drink out to her, and the situation has already occurred.

*for next time* I’m sure that customer is a recurring customer… also since when is (🙄) eye rolling??? & since when do folks take such offense to emojis??? Lmao 😭 that was more towards the customer because that’s happened to me before—I’ve been blamed for their drink accidentally spilling on them…
Honestly never seen her before. Hope she never comes back lmao

Hopefully You didn’t deserve to be cussed at. I have a coworker who called a customer the bword & that same customer complained so she might get fired… it’s not fair that they treat us like crap.
