the only reason i don’t understand this is because it’s a 1.25 for vsccf and whip is free. both melt into the drink after 10 seconds and taste the same

My thoughts too. I did add some vsccf today to a hot matcha and it was alright but just kinda muddled the flavor.

Okay so at first I didnt get it either, and even talked smack about it.
It was ordered quite often, so then I tried vsccf on a hot drink and tbh…. It wasn’t bad at all!
Its just like a light more flavorful whip cream to me idk 🤣

Fair! I honestly am an “iced drink year round” person so, I appreciate the insight! I figured it might be something like this! Might need to try it just to know. 👀
Due-Ear81052 points1y ago
You def should! Its actually pretty good on a hot chai or hot coco!
TarantulaTeeth131 points1y ago
Sounds delicious! I had it in some matcha and it wasn’t bad! But then I made it into a green tea frap with the foam and it’s so good lol

I tried it once on a hot drink because a lot of people were trying it and it’s honestly not that bad! Not for me but I could see why people like it

At this point I just throw sweet cream in it, it’s literally the same

We have a ton of people in our area that do this on the reg 🙄

What I don’t understand is this barista trend that cold foam is weird on a hot drink. People get cold cream in their hot coffee. Cold cream in their americanos and lattes. Why is this any different? Let people get what they want. Barista reddit posts like these are exactly why people think we’re elitists.

It’s not that it’s necessarily weird but it’s VSCCF is $1.25 and is essentially the same thing as whip cream, which is free.
SavannaHeat1 points1y ago
I understand that but why does it matter? It’s someone else’s drink and someone else’s money. I guess I just don’t get it.
BlackberryOpposite310 points1y ago
Well cause then we have to make the cold foam to put on the drink which takes longer then just putting whip on it.

I can see how that could be annoying, especially during peak. Maybe there’s a different taste/texture in the drink. I’ve never had the whip or the vsccf, but I imagine that the vsccf is sweeter because of all the vanilla. Perhaps the 2% also adds something different.
All I’m saying is at the end of the day, it’s a drink. And it seems like a lot of baristas on Reddit like mocking or belittling or bashing people for their drink orders, when one: it is literally our job to make the drinks and we all knew what we signed up for, and two: it really is just a drink. Like even just the simple fact that people take photos of customer’s drink orders, to then post them is just… extremely weird to me. But idk, maybe I’m missing something.
