honestly one of the best things you can do is file incident reports when this stuff happens and once you have a decent amount of reports filed get those people banned from your store. in the moment tho, literally laugh at them, whether that be to their faces or with your coworkers in the back

A customer told me their blonde roast pour over tasted like cigarettes today 🤷♀️ but just as they don’t know whats going on in your life, you don’t know whats going on in theirs. Our interactions with customers are so short so we aim for them all to be positive, but everyone has their days. Im sorry its been really rough, but try and let the better times outweigh the negative ones

File reports so that the customers who verbally assault baristas regularly get banned and kicked out. At my old store we had a customer who yelled at partners for his espresso shots tasting bad and had thrown them at the partners, no one wrote reports and so he kept doing it until our manager was chilling at night in the lobby with her family and saw this crap he was pulling and kicked him out while she was off the clock. She then clocked in just to write the report

I know what you mean, it seems like we’ve been getting a lot of really angry customers lately too, and it’s getting to me more than it used to. Know that you are doing your best and remember your worth. Stand firm in the knowledge that you’re good at your job and these customers are just using you as an outlet for their personal baggage in a way that you haven’t had the luxury of doing in return. It’s not fair and it sucks, and I’m sorry. In case you needed to hear it today, from one partner to another, I’m proud of you.
