is it legal to be scheduled 7 days in one work week period? i thought you had to have one day off in 7? (monday to sunday)

eta: i just realized that could be a law specific to my state

My thoughts too! In CA you can’t work 7 days straight without a 24 hour break. But loop holes exists. maybe one of those 5:30 am end before 9am? and then their next shift is 9:30, boom - hole looped.

you can, actually, you just get paid overtime on the 7th day i believe. similar to a meal penalty

i believe it’s also only within a work week. so for starbs it would be M-Su. so if you worked Th-W but had the second thursday off it wouldn’t count.

yeah we open at six - i only net gain like 4 hours at the end of the week because all i'm doing is opening, working through peak and leaving... we're training a decent amnt of partners for our district, so my SM has a little wiggle room with the labor stuff. i've offered like 3 of the shifts so i dont work 2 weeks straight but no one has opening availability so i'm not sure what i'm gonna do 🤪

I think you can only be scheduled for 13 days in a row before you have to fatigue a day… without someone much higher up signing a paper. This is insane.
