John sucks at planning his companies events. This should be a cambria and a visit to a bakery.

Facts
jklmnopedy 15 points 1y ago
Seriously. Had a guy come through drive today asking for 24 donuts. Like, sir, where do you think you are? Are you new? Lol we had 4. He passed.
Necessary_Low939 6 points 1y ago
I would said, “Sigh…. Sir… Dunkin’ Donuts is that way.”
aee78 108 points 1y ago
We had a dude call the night before for 5 travelers at 8am the next day. Didn't show for them.
I will give John props for it at least not being at peak and that he paid.
gsselph [OP] 14 points 1y ago
See I think I would’ve screamed. Unfortunately for us we usually do 20 half hours that early :(
aee78 6 points 1y ago
Yikes. This time a year we're at about 8, in the summer we're near a bike path and can hit 30s.

I was the closing shift that night. The opener was so frazzled by the guy not showing, they were still there when i came in at around noon.
luvduvbunny 73 points 1y ago
1. People do realize that there are probably bakeries in the same area with more options for food and better quality coffee?
2. If someone wants travelers, they should pre-order/RSVP
overturned23 49 points 1y ago
we have a customer that does this, except his name is scott. he brags about his big orders while he waits.
TheOnesLeftBehind 3 points 1y ago
You can turn them off in mobile order now
liljazzbird 40 points 1y ago
Turn those things off in MOP! After what 7-8 years of us asking The siren has finally blessed us with that ability.

Sorry you can call/come in and I will make you the traveler within a reasonable timeframe according to my staffing levels at the time. I will explain that we are short staffed so it WILL take awhile and inform you that if you would like 6 travelers in the future to please call ahead and give as 24 hours warning so we can prepare.

But you shouid not have the ability to sit in your comfy office or home and just tap 6 travelers with no remorse.
gsselph [OP] 12 points 1y ago
I had no idea until I posted this that turning it off was an option!
liljazzbird 12 points 1y ago
Yeah they just added it last week I think? We’ve been asking for it since MOP launched.

I don’t think it automatically turns back on either so you can turn it off and… just not turn them back on. Bless.
shosh_c 3 points 1y ago
It’s a new update!
LitbykristenPhoto 1 points 1y ago
Not every GM allows it, our didnt…thus the 27 mobile orders…
ProfessionalRock7940 23 points 1y ago
Someone came through our drive thru the other day and asked for a traveler right before peak. We told them it would take longer than 10 minutes and they groaned, said the didn't have that kind of time, and drove away
caitlin_marie_gg 12 points 1y ago
omg i had that happen to someone ordered a traveler in the drive thru and i was like thats going to take 10 minutes we can’t do travelers in the drive thru because it is also a safety hazard and then she pulled up to the window and was like ooh yeah i get it and was understanding and came inside
ProfessionalRock7940 4 points 1y ago
Wow that's such a nice interaction lol.
caitlin_marie_gg 4 points 1y ago
i was shocked because she was like oh yeah i totally don’t mind waiting i can even wait inside if you want
cpv_91 20 points 1y ago
John not only sucks but is a giant ASS.
Js_On_My_Yeet 19 points 1y ago
I always mark travelers off mobiles lol
ProfessionalRock7940 5 points 1y ago
Whaaaat how?
Cjuytsootgg 11 points 1y ago
Go to functions, item availability, scroll to the bottom. It’s the very last category
gsselph [OP] 8 points 1y ago
HOLY COW THANK YOU
furry_anus_explosion -1 points 1y ago
So then they order in store? I’d prefer they keep it to the mobiles.
imathrowayslc 13 points 1y ago
What is more likely to happen is they see “not available at this store “ and check locations until they find one with it on.
furry_anus_explosion 2 points 1y ago
I’m sure it does ward off some customers but we normally just have ppl call us for travelers if we mark out
Aurora_Boreallis 12 points 1y ago
But with a call you can say “okay that will be 45 minutes”
rednick953 5 points 1y ago
Granted it’s been a few years but if someone came in and asked for anything over like 2 travelers my manager and shifts would decline the transaction and tell the Cx they have to call ahead and order that like x amount of time beforehand.
Js_On_My_Yeet 1 points 1y ago
I would be okay with it being on mobiles on 1 condition which I think is totally reasonable: change the "add to order" button or whatever to a "call the nearest store for your traveler/pick store location to call". That way whoever picks up the phone can take down the details of the traveler: the amount of cups, type of creamer, sugars, when they will pick it up, etc. Then when it is all confirmed then it will come through in the system. Helps if they decide to change their mind while on the phone or if you're like my store to let them know that we ran out of travelers.
CharmyFrog 10 points 1y ago
At least those banana loafs don’t need to be warmed up.
kaefeen 4 points 1y ago
wouldn’t have warmed them up anyway
kxnkycxrly 7 points 1y ago
5:36 am? Fuck you John
Fearless_While_9824 6 points 1y ago
F*** John, and the travelers he rode in on.
theWaterHermit 5 points 1y ago
I saw the pastries first and thought, that’s bad but not so bad, then I saw all the travelers and thought, yeah this guy sucks
madisonla 5 points 1y ago
Oh…my…gosh….. my jaw dropped when I saw the second pic
Gypsystomp 4 points 1y ago
Sup DFW baristas. It's your boy.
writingqueen22 3 points 1y ago
and then they come in five minutes later expecting it all to be ready
FragrantWin9 3 points 1y ago
Weird flex but ok.
Why spend hundreds at Starbucks when you could go elsewhere for 15 doughnuts and some joe. There’s a local doughnut shop in my town you could get two dozen doughnuts for $14. Add some coffee it would probably be a grand total of $45.
gsselph [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Unfortunately in my town there isn’t a lot open so we are the go to. It’s a super small town w people who refuse to let new businesses thrive.
honourarycanadian 3 points 1y ago
Does John know we aren’t a bakery?
darkwolf523 3 points 1y ago
I’m ashamed in sharing a name with him
rennitz 3 points 1y ago
John... no. Get a coffee pot and a fat bag of coffee and brew your own.
Aurora_Boreallis 3 points 1y ago
We turned ours off in mobile. Not today satan. Not ever
DannyMae 2 points 1y ago
Hey John…..I just wanna talk John stop running
Necessary_Low939 2 points 1y ago
Geez John. Relax.
GrayKayAkana 2 points 1y ago
shove the entire order into the oven and set on 4 bacon egg bites, you can thank me later
xCherryBombshell 2 points 1y ago
🖕
Kmsss 2 points 1y ago
On the flip side… that at least $200-250 which helps you with labor. It’s a long process for the coffee but not heavily involved.

Either way, phone or mobile you still have to make them. I’ll take 6 travelers vs 15 frappes .
haydensidun 2 points 1y ago
Fuck you, John
CommanderWar64 2 points 1y ago
If you want bulk food either bakery or Costco.
_circuts 2 points 1y ago
It's always John!
LitbykristenPhoto 1 points 1y ago
THAT is a normal order in Seattle. What wasnt for our store was the day 4ppl called out sick, there were 2 green beans and one trainer for opening until 3:30pm. And we had a bunch of uber orders along with our normal two block line for breakfast and 27 mobile orders came in AT ONCE. I wouldve love to just make blonde roast. It could always be worse…

Specialist-Tour3910 1 points 1y ago
Was there a promo on travelers today?? I swear we either make 0 or 10 each morning no in between.

Also fun laugh of the day, after sending out a 5 traveler Uber eats I realized I gave them no cups. Oops. Drink with your hands
nupprince 1 points 1y ago
I had a mobile I always had a love hate relationship with since she would always order 5 iced coffees and two sweet teas with lemon besides a rare food order here and there she was sweet and gave us either $20 or over dollar tips since she ordered everyday
relyhigh 1 points 1y ago
I had a guy today come in 45 mins late for his travelers then orders 15 assorted pastries and was temperamental because he his late for the meeting. Plan better. Be on time.
Kayp22296 1 points 1y ago
Our regular named John (who is also our Mayor), was diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer a few days ago. We all cried for him today. He comes through every day.
kxnkycxrly 1 points 1y ago
We should stop accepting travelers for mobiles
arokh123 1 points 1y ago
When I worked for a downtown location, Every Thursday we used to make 17 travelers by 5:30a for a woman for her work. And every Monday we had a man want 13 by 5a.
On every occasion they would both order for the same Friday usually wanting them by 6a. 🥴 And once a month some guy would want 25 for end of month inventory for his business like around 8p.
cookiemonstah87 1 points 1y ago
We don't usually get many traveller's in my store, maybe one a week. Suddenly this week we've had multiple per day, and every single one has tried to order them in the drive-thru
Tzenra 1 points 1y ago
We have one woman that comes in every so often and orders anywhere between $120-$150 worth of pastries, she pretty much cleans us out on most things
thechamelioncircuit 1 points 1y ago
That’s why I turn of travelers in MOP lmao
