The heads up doesn’t matter if there isn’t a fat tip included
ittybittybakerkitty 8 points 1y ago
Bet he was also the type to show up immediately and complain you're taking too long 🙃
reallyrei [OP] 3 points 1y ago
Actually he wasn't! He showed up a while after they'd been finished, apologized, and gave us the warning that there'd be another large order later in the day

What kind of logic is this. He’s a dick for ordering things? I don’t think so. It’s just a big order. No need to hate on customers for the sole reason it’s a large order.
mr_epix18 19 points 1y ago
The point is that it takes so much time especially when we’re already trying to handle drive through, cafe, and other mobiles. If there was nothing else happening, we’d probably side eye it a little bit but still do it. But what if it was a super busy time of day and then THAT happened…? That’s why we baristas get annoyed when people make huge orders like that, ESPECIALLY when it’s lots of frappuccinos. I hope this makes sense to you and have a good rest of your day✌️

do you work at starbucks? if not you just can’t understand. period. we’re not saying you CANT randomly place a huge order. you CAN 100%, there’s just a more considerate way to go about it. and we’re not saying we hate the people who do it and treat them like shit. in fact, im sure the baristas were incredibly kind to him. it just reallllly interrupts the flow and in a company like starbucks where every position has to do it’s part, it can throw off the whole system. also. baristas everywhere put up w crazy shit. ppl are crazy about their coffee. we know we signed up to deal with it, but it doesn’t mean we can’t share our plights on the designated subreddit.

Yes I do. It sucks when a big order comes in but I’m not gonna blast my customer like that.
natalessandra12 4 points 1y ago
I actually agree with you. I mean I’ve also worked as a barista and sure it sucks when it’s busy and you’re constantly getting big orders and there’s a lot of stress, but it’s the job. It’s Starbucks, a wide corporate coffee shop franchise.

I think people are just really comfortable being able to complain about it here, which I get. It’s nice to have an outlet, so usually I don’t really care and I’m totally also guilty of complaining about everything at work. Sometimes though, I do think that employees can be harsh on customers being nice about something they know will be annoying. It’s like a lose lose.

You really want to make a thousand Frappuccino’s, especially during peak?
smittenkitten87 -10 points 1y ago
It’s literally the job you signed up for. This subreddit is filled with entitled kids who complain about their job. Down vote me all you want. Doesn’t make me wrong.
Legitimate-Back-822 1 points 1y ago
And you're acting like an entitled customer 😂😂
smittenkitten87 -1 points 1y ago
... customers are entitled to order things...
