What is your customer connection score? And how do you feel about your job right now? I’m just trying to see something

I think my customer connection score is like 37. I am very frustrated with my job. I don’t get any hours and customers are extra crazy.

we just dropped from a 48, the highest it's ever been, to a 26, and honestly it just kills my morale. things constantly break at our store, like recently our espresso machines, food fridge, and ice machine have all been down, so the customers treat us like shit and it brings down our scores, and our morale about working.

Usually low seventies, high sixties. We're a very stable DT store and getting busier.
Also a training store so lots of green beans, but we treat connections differently. No forced conversations. Try to start one, if they're clearly not interested then leave them be.
I like my job, barista for 2.5, shift for 2 months, but I'm looking forward to finishing college and getting a career job.

Our score is 45 right now, it’s been going up a ton lately because of new management who was sent in to “clean up” the store. My mental health has decreased at a similar rapid rate.

I literally have no idea, I feel a 2/10

My store is in the 60 club too. ☺️ This time last year we were setting at a 28. We’ve worked really hard to get it up. We are the highest in the district! I try my best to connect with every customer in DT, ESPECIALLY if they are waiting for an item. It takes 2 seconds to ask how their day is going. About 55% of the time you can tell it really made their day just making that connection with them, as insignificant as it may seem in the drivethru window and Starbucks, believe it or not it makes a difference. Also, my other tip/advice is, talk to them about the survey. Unless they score you at a 7, the highest score on the survey, it doesn’t count towards your score even if they give you a 6. So I just kind of throw that in my connection. “Hey just so ya know you could be getting a survey via email, and we would really appreciate that 7 spot because anything lower doesn’t count to our overall score and we would really appreciate it if you feel like you had good experience on your visit today. Thanks a latte” If you do that with 60% of customers, your score will be up in no time! Be a role model!

I appreciate the tips. I’m just a little disheartened. I’m an afternoon shift and no customer comes in without being greeted. My baristas are always connecting. We literally made a bingo card that my baristas are using to connect. We have a question of the day. We even do the “if you get a survey in your email, would you rate us 7 for your visit today?” And 9/10 they say yes. We keep trying but keep seeing a drop in our score.

where do you see your individual score?
ThatBichAlex [OP]2 points1y ago
Your SM should post it somewhere/tell you. My store has posters that everything is posted on (customer connection, OTW, etc.)
RavenMcG1 points1y ago
We have individual scores? My store runs usually around 68.
ThatBichAlex [OP]1 points1y ago
Yeah like each store does. That’s a super high customer connection score!
RavenMcG2 points1y ago
I lucked out and we have a great team. Though as an introvert I feel like one of those cheerleader types you see in movies. *jazz hands* haha
ThatBichAlex [OP]2 points1y ago
That’s what’s so crazy to me is that my team is really good too! They work really hard. Yet we have a 26? How?
RavenMcG2 points1y ago
Maybe not enough people answer the question. That is super crappy to deal with on top of all the other nonsense right now.
