Hi OP! I have seven piercings in my ears (cartilage and lobe) and I got them all while working in food service. When I got mine, I wasn’t wearing a headset and they got badly infected and irritated so I definitely wouldn’t do it while wearing one since those might irritate or bring on infection. If you do choose to get them pierced, I would recommend that you wipe your headset down with the alcohol wipes before putting it on, and buy a good sterile solution to help you keep the piercings themselves clean. I prefer the “Steri-Wash” brand cleaner- I used it on my most recent piercings and they helped super well! I linked it below just in case. If you do get them done, you’ll have to post a picture of your new studs!

Hi! I had my cartilage pierced a while ago and the head set hurt on it, but it wasn’t unbearable. Just make sure you don’t get a gun piercing get it done by a needle at an actual piercing place, not a Claires

howdy, i have three lobe piercings in each ear and got 4 out of 6 added while working at starbucks 💛 i agree about making sure your headset is clean before putting it on your head but you should be cleaning your piercings a couple times a day anyways. typically if they get a little infected that's super normal and easy to deal with, just use a thorough warm water and salt rinse on them if they do get a little puffy and irritated and it should clear it up within a few days. as for the headset itself irritating the piercings, it's surprisingly easy to situate the headset earpiece to avoid your earlobe, whether that's pulling it up so it rests higher on your ear or pulling it forward so it rests more on your temple. don't let a drive thru stop you from getting your ears pierced if that's what you want 💛
