I’m normally an opener but anyone else get anxiety when they close ? I’m constantly looking at time all day like ok I have 4 hrs left etc? Damn anxiety (self.starbucksbaristas)

yessss i get so fidgety when i notice things that i know should be done by 6 pm, 7 pm etc in order to get out on time not done by those times

Honestly I just hate night shifts now... I was always a night shift gal ive been working since 8th grade (under the table at a small music shop I loved it ngl) and its always been night shifts moving to AM has completely changed my sleep patterns and has completely changed my atitude towards working I dont wanna stand around all day in the AM theres always something to be doing night shifts I finish all of the cleaning stocking organizing and more by like an hour before close the rest of the stuff we can't even do until close so we just do nothing

I’m a closing barista, and I love close.
Sometimes it’s stressful because morning/mid shift doesn’t get their shit done so that gets it put on our shoulders but imo there is ALWAYS something to do at Starbucks. I’ve never had an issue with not finding things to do even once we’ve don’t all the closing tasks early, there is always something to do if you look for it. But also I’ve never worked mornings…

Honestly me. I'm also very particular on how I get things done and have my little routine and get out of sorts when it gets messed with.
I love closing when I have a good shift who let's me just do my thing and another strong pre-closer so I can normally be mostly done by the time they leave...or else I'm grumpy until I can get it done and breathe

before I worked here I had an evening job at a restaurant so I was never a morning person but always had the exact same feeling! once I got over hating opens for the early ass hours, I now prefer them way more than closes bc I’d rather start my day right away than wait around all day to go to work. i love finishing early in the afternoon, still getting a full shift in and then having the rest of my day to do homework, nap, go to the gym, see some friends, play video games, etc!
