Dry Hands! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by idfkmydude
Hey guys, lately I've been finding the sani water had just been making my hands waaaay more chapped than I can manage. I've tried everything from Aveeno, to Nivea, to O'Keefe's and nothing seems to be working. Do any partners have secret miracle workers they'd care to share?

I put a thick layer of Aquaphor all over my hands before going to bed! It feels weird and sticky but works like a charm.

it helps also if you wear mittens over it lol

I’ve found that using the La Roche-Posay eczema cream/lotion has helped tremendously. I’ve worked for the siren for a long time and have eczema but the sanitizer makes it flare up really bad on my hands. Putting that lotion on literally all the time plus immediately after hand washing/showering has helped.

Just went to a derm yesterday about this! Neutrogena Norwiegan Hand Cream ($4). At night, I layer hydrocortisone and aquaphor! Also moisturizer right after washing your hands!

Neutrogena hyluraonic acid pressed serum with hand lotion over it at night does the trick for me. Also, vitamin E oil.

Your store should have an unscented lotion that’s safe to use at work, like lubriderm. I use that pretty much anytime my hands are feeling dried out at work, and when I get home I use either lubriderm or something heftier like o keefe’s if needed. Mainly it seems to be about keeping something good applied very regularly, my hand issues got much better when my manager got a store lotion.

Curel ultra healing lotion has been a God send! I love it. It’s the only lotion that works for me.

Coco butter Vaseline and I purchased extra long dishwashing gloves that go all the way up to my elbow for when I do dishes and my hands and arms healed completely, lifesaver and highly recommended.

So your hands are gonna dry out but they’re also getting irritated and “burnt”. You need to make sure you’re using something that heals your skin as well as moisturizes it AND that is oil based (most lotions are water based and may further contribute to burning your skin). Aquaphor is the most easily accessible option that addresses all these issues.

Just make sure to get your hands wet before applying any kind of lotion to them because the lotion is designed to bind water to your skin. It’ll still be able to work the rest of its healing magic even if you don’t wet your hands but it’ll moisturize them a lot better if they’re wet.

it also helps if you buy a pair of dishwashing gloves!! id recommend spending a bit more for a decent pair so they last longer if you can. if not they sell them at dollar tree!! i know some stores have them but i like having my own personal pair.

Dream cream from lush!

You can try pure lanolin. It’s hefty and hard to rub in, but leaves a protective layer.
