😂 I love the title. I was just thinking it was gonna be about portion sizes, not a flaming oven

The only time I've ever started a fire in the oven it was also while warming a cookie. With all the things that are greasy and in there much longer, I'm surprised it's happened with the cookies, but here we are.

It only happens with the cookies!!!

If I had a nickel for every time a cookie was set on fire at a store I worked at, I would have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

same thing happened to me while warming a cookie!! it’s weird that it’s never happened with any other food, (from my experience) given that it’s only in there for a few seconds

I think it has something to do with the temperature setting for the cookies. I can't confirm as I've never seen the actual temps for the various items, but I was told the cookie setting was a very high temp for a relatively short duration. I've seen this happen 3 times in 2 different stores and it seems it's when the paper touches the back or sides of the oven that it is the riskiest. I've only experienced it in the older model ovens, hasn't happened yet in the new touchscreen ones. But I'm sure it's only a matter of time because sometimes that oven door opens and there's actual smoke
