Minimum Days/Hours Required? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Braveheart1451
Hey there, so I’m feeling some stress recently and am thinking maybe lessening some days/hours on the schedule might be helpful. I don’t really want to cause any trouble though. What’s the minimum amount I could work to not get in trouble? Obviously I’m planning on putting the request like a month out to try to help manage. Would like 3 7-8 hour days cut it, or would that be too little?

depends on your store’s needs and your SM. for example, there’s someone at my store that only works once or twice a week for 4 hour shifts. i personally work 2-3 times a week for 20-ish hours.

if you need insurance coverage 20 hours minimum every week is what you need to keep it, which i think 3 8-hr shifts a week covers. but generally it’s store dependent. :)

There’s not really a policy around it. I’d just recommend asking for less hours, talking with your SM before submitting a reduced availability is always the best idea. If you need the benefits providing 3 8 hour days will almost never cut it!
