PAID OUT PROTOCOL (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lqz19
Does anyone know the rules regarding paying people out for their mileage?
I'm a shift and have done payouts for the last 3 years, without a problem. Now at a new store I'm being told it is store managers that are supposed to being doing so. And "investigation" is being threatened over 3 dollars of gas for picking up product -_-

It’s relatively recent that they decided to only have the sm do any kind of payouts. If they do investigate then they’re straight up wasting resources. Your old sm didn’t inform you of the change and you were following protocol as from before. You can’t be expected to know the change unless you were told

If that's the case I'm denying any request to drive anywhere from now on. I need my money today, not in a week. Thanks for the insight!

Of course! Out of curiosity did you pay out yourself or someone else?

No, never! Lol
I drove 6 miles in the am at the request of the AM shift in charge.
I extended my 4 hour into an 8 hour shift, and at the end of it asked the Mid Shift in charge to pay me out.
And they did so. Now they may be "under investigation"..
Which is one of the most foolish things I've ever heard of.

This company continues to lose the trust in it's workers, and glorifies and trusts their SMs far too much. The amount of SMs I've ever met that do their job as they should and I respect- I can count on one hand, and still have some fingers left over

Yeah it makes no sense. They put so much on sm in general. I just recently became an asm and I fully think it should be a permanent position but I know it won’t ever be because money

All I know is the last time I got mileage reimbursement it was on my paycheck and was result of me telling the manager how many miles I drove. I think there is a form online that managers use to enter the mileage.
I have been reimbursed out of drawer for milk purchase but never for mileage.

That's new to me! I'll be talking with my SM about it tomorrow. I had another shift pay me out for my miles, and now they seem to be the one in the hot seat. I feel bad, because as far as I knew he was okay to do it when I asked him to.
Good ol starbies wasting time on the little things...
But turning blind eyes when there's harassment in the workplace lol.
