Help opening (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ddebdesdemonaa
So I just moved to a drive through store from a cafe and I am scheduled opening shifts but not really sure what else extra needs to be done for opening other than the usual cafe tasks. If anyone can help please , any tips and suggestions even on how you open would be greatly appreciated. 🥺😭

I’m also from a cafe store and haven’t worked drive through, but I will note drive through tends to have more drawers than a cafe so keep track of that. But honestly ask your manager because every manger is different and this store may have unique tasks for open. For example at my store the metal pumps are cleaned by morning crew not night, I would just ask

are you a SSV?

No I am just a barista but I feel like there are more things that need done here at the DT rather than my old cafe.

Are you asking as a barista or an SSV? Or both? Barista tasks should be the same, unless you came from a store that didn't use headsets. It's really just extra bars, drawers, and stocking.

Honestly besides headsets if you did not have those at your Cafe store the process should be the same. If anything it will just be different because your new store probably does things differently than your old store not because of the drive thru if that makes sense?
