I’m a DT SSV: always wear a headset, stay in the loop. Understand that lobby isn’t your priority (it’s good to run out and check it, but know your line in DT is priority. Understand when you go to All bar and how to support your baristas there. I’m not sure if all DT schedule two shifts, but know it can be harder if you’re alone.

as somebody who promoted the same way, it was rough at first! But, some things that helped me was drawing a line that you are a new supervisor, you’re just learning DT as well. Also, get to know everybody’s coaching styles and see how they like to take feedback as coaching is the number one thing to make you into a great supervisor, not just an okay one. Also, plan out your breaks as soon as you get onto the floor by writing it on the DCR or anywhere you see fit, it’ll help organize your thoughts immensely and help you transition to a larger team.
