I got blacklisted for missing my last shift, is there anything I can do to get rehired? (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I worked at a store in Buffalo, NY for 7 months. In that time I did not no call no show once, and became a barista trainer. I ended up having to move from the city so I put in my two weeks. Everything was fine and my SM said she would schedule me up until that day. I showed up to every shift except my last once. I had a personal emergency and ended up no call no showing.

My old SM used that one no call no show to process my separation as “job abandonment”. I’ve already tried appealing it but the specialist I got told me that while my situation is incredibly unfortunate, technically the “job abandonment” label is accurate since I did miss my last shift.

I’ve applied to every starbucks in a 30 mile radius in my new city and not a single one will even give me a call to invite me to interview because in the system all they see is my “job abandonment” label with 0 explanation or backstory.

I loved working at starbucks. I loved my coworkers. I was good at my job and trained 20+ baristas too. I only missed my last shift and this just doesn’t seem fair. Does anyone have any possible ideas as to how I can get a job as a barista at starbucks in my new city?

you could try going into the store and explaining your situation. not too keen on an sm’s thought process but giving your explanation seems like the most you can do in your end. Good luck in the future!
