I am well aware of the labor cuts however, my SM told me it should be back to normal by april and for the first couple weeks of april my hours are still not what i’d like them to be? I’ve been working at my current location since November it’s been 4 months and I just want more hours. I am a minor so that may be why but generally i only work 4-9 hours a week. How can I ask my SM for more hours? given that I am a minor. my availability is 1-9:30 pm weekdays and evenings and mornings on weekends. I am a student so maybe it’s my availability? i’m not sure but i definitely need at least 12 hours a week 15 would be perfect b cause i have to pay bills I don’t know how to get this across without sound rude and desperate?

minors are allowed 4 hour shifts on week days and may not go over 28 hours a week. i would nag at your sm

It’s 20 hours max. 4 hours a day weekdays. And can only work after 3 pm.

I mean even I’m a minor who has limited scheduling but I still get like 10-12 a week rn so maybe talk to your SM and see if they can do anything for you

yall are able to see into the first couple weeks of april?
MostGuitar5923 [OP]1 points1y ago
no only the first week i meant to say that
overturned231 points1y ago
it’s only 3 days into the month, not to play devils advocate

yea but my hours have always been 9 hours like even before this

I know it’s bad. I worked here in high school and some weeks I got 17 hours and others I got 4. The high schoolers at my store are getting 4-5 hours rn. And they are really upset about it. Also about your availability. It sounds great but if you’re in high school you can’t work before 3 p and can’t work more than 4 hours. I was told by SM that is company wide rule. Minors are the first to get their hours cut as they’re seen as “extra”. I know it’s messed up and frustrating

to be fair the latest schedule is three days into the month. i wouldn’t expect any real change until summer or whenever the next quarter begins. imo these labor cuts are a union-busting tactic and meant to weed out those who are organizing

they cut hours every year around this time. anyone who doesn’t need to be near full time are the first to get cut. it’s the slowest season - post holidays and before summer. been w the company since 2016 but it still always catches me off guard lol

yeah but this one is especially hard and in my district many partners who have been more vocal about their support of unionizing have super reduced hours
