rant about the new guidelines for covid (self.starbucksbaristas)

DISCLAIMER I DIDNT KNOW UNTIL I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SHIFT THAT HE HAD COVID
these new mask mandates make me so fucking angry. my boyfriend got covid on monday and he drove me to work (my car was stolen) so i told my shift supervisor and she explained to me the new policy about how it's optional to get tested if you're exposed and you only have to actually isolate if you're positive but like how the fuck would you know if you're positive if testing is optional and you choose not to. i asked if i was supposed to finish my shift and she was like oh yeah definitely you just have to wear a mask for 10 days while working if you're exposed. so there i am working whilst being incredibly uncomfortable that im handling peoples food and drinks while not knowing if i have covid or not.
(im negative thank god but still what the fuck)
