I think the hardest part about starting to learn this job is different coworkers telling me different ways to make things 😭 I keep getting so confused🥲(self.starbucksbaristas)

Yeah, you literally have to learn each shift and how they want things done.
I feel like this is office space where he's like.
> "I have eight different bosses right now. Eight bosses. Eight, Bob. So when I make a mistake I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled. That, and the fear of losing my job, but you know Bob, that'll make someone work *just hard enough* not to get fired."

Know where to find your resources, and stick to the standards. You can access recipes for every drink on the ipad (the store resources app), there are recipe cards available. You can log into partner hub on the store computer to search for recipes, training videos, directions, even shelf life of products.

are the espresso machines supposed to be cleaned with cafiza every day or is that supposed to happen during clean play?
notrachelmar0 points1y ago
is that like the tablets you put in the machine? sorry not super familiar with the brands of stuff. but for the newer espresso machines you have to put cleaning tablets in every night and with the old machines it’s every morning and night

Yeah true that. I’m a trainer (and have been here for 2 years) so I’m pretty confident in knowing the standard, but feel free to reach out with questions. I’ve had to correct shifts and, once, my SM who has been with the bux for over a decade. It’s a lot of info, but you’ll get there! Definitely use your resources and always feel comfortable asking questions either to your coworkers or here ;).

Eh. It gets easier once you realize most customers don’t notice when we mess a drink up. So just pick one or two partners to actually listen to and stick with what they say. We have some fun debates about what the correct recipe is, to the point we have to dig out the recipe cards.

Haha 😂 some of my partners did that the other day with one of the frap recipes.

Stick to the standards! Confirm with the recipe cards and/ or trainers.

the amount of trainers and long-time baristas who tell me that I'm doing someone the wrong way.. when I was taught 3 different ways.. it's really annoying

Ordinary-Theory-82893 points1y ago
The shaker
