What are some tips for partners with learning/neuro disabilities? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been here for a month or so and I’m still trying to find ways to be able to keep up and get into the flow of things.

One strategy another partner taught me was that while doing customer support, if it’s been awhile since you’ve stocked up the milks then use your phone to take a quick picture of the hot/cold bar fridges when you check. That way when you walk all the way across the store to the back to grab extra milk, you can reference the pictures to double check how many 2% vs coconut containers you need to bring with you. This has saved me so many times because my short term memory is very limited.

I’m slowly also learning how quickly 2%/oat/whole milk need to be replaced during peak (I’ve floated between 3 stores now and it’s different at each one), so that during each cycle I can just grab a certain amount of jugs on my way out from doing dishes.

I use a water soluble pen to write notes on my hand. Also use panini bags stuffed into the apron pocket.

Also utilizing people. If someone is idle at bar, ask them what they need stocked. If they're idle at POS, can we fit more of this sandwich you just saw in the back? Teamwork and dream work or whatever.
