Light ice shaken espresso (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Electronic_Rough_973
I've been having some debate with another barista at my store with this. If someone ordered a BSOSE with light ice, I would just customize as only light ice and fill the cup to the top. I figured that is what everyone else would do too bc it seems pretty normal for other light ice drinks. HOWEVER, there is a barista I work with who used to be a shift a year ago, who tries correcting everyone on this. She says that we need to charge them for the extra milk since there will be room in the cup. I genuinely believe that if the standard is to fill every other iced drink with no ice/light ice to the top with milk at no additional charge (i.e. black iced tea no ice/light ice, iced chai no ice/light ice) then the shaken espresso would be no different. But this barista is willing to die on the hill that we have to charge them for the extra milk, as in will tell you to charge them for it at reg.

My store is pretty high volume and honestly forget to ask any shifts/my SM when they're in what we're supposed to actually do, so I thought I'd come here and ask you all.

i swear i told her this but she INSISTS that we have to charge them. idk if she's on a power trip or what but it's really annoying me. i don't have it in me to care that much over an 80 cent charge

…..there’s literally no way to charge for extra milk on it

There is an add dairy button. But no, we are not supposed to use that for light ice shaken espressos. Just fill the cup up is standard.

You do ex oat (rightside button on pos) no charge. Just to accommodate for the extra product.

This is the correct answer—No charge but inventory is accounted for

No don’t charge because then u needa charge for every drink that has less ice or no ice. There is an add dairy button but it’s not used correctly in this case

The charge for milk is included in the price fill it to the top and ask them to show you the resource since your going to do what you believe is the correct standard until then.
