My last manager was amazing. She truly cared about all of us and it showed. She went to bat for us when our dm made decisions that would make our lives harder and she listened to us when we spoke to her. Everything she did showed that she cared about us, and wanted us all to be happy. She worked on the floor when we were short staffed, and checked in with openings and closings. And it reflected in sales, our store jumped from a 32k a week store to a 48k a week store in a year. She wasn’t perfect, but she apologized for mistakes and worked to make them right. She was transferred to a different store by our dm, and we all miss her. If it was a shorter commute, I absolutely would have followed her.

My first manager with Starbucks, I truly appreciate them. They have taken an interest in my personal life, as well as everyone else and truly cares. Not only mine, but when I come in with my boyfriend, they try to get to know him as well. A compassionate person honestly, if we get good dt times, they bring snacks for the team. They’ll bring in snacks from Costco for us randomly. They try to give everyone as many hours as possible in this shortage that corporate is slapping us with. Genuinely such a good person in and out.

He was my second manager with Starbucks. The first one was a scumbag, so I was pretty sceptical when we got the new manager.
What made him a great leader, to me, is that he was human and he showed that. He was never detached or robotic with us, he never just straight fed us corporate bullshit, and he spoke to us like we were people rather than just employees. Of course he wasn't perfect - he would lash out when peak got stressful, and sometimes he put more pressure on us than was really necessary.
But what made that redeemable was that he would recognise when he'd gone too far, and come back to apologise every time. Not a half-assed "sorry," I mean like a full apology.
He also understood that we were all living our own lives outside of work, too. In one-on-ones and even in passing, he was interested in our lives and how we were doing. He understood how big changes can affect our productivity at work. As a manager, he supported me and helped me develop while going through a fairly rough point in life.
My only complaint about him was that he wasn't always fully honest with us. I don't think he liked to give bad news, like he didn't want to let us down. I pushed for promotion to SSV for a full year and a half, with him constantly reassuring me that he would promote me. I found out a week before I was leaving that he never intended to make me a SSV, stating that I was "too unreliable" for turning down shifts on my days off. At the time I was already working an average of 35 hours a week and had only called out when I was genuinely sick.

My current manager right now is the best. He’s so friendly and sweet.

My first starbucks manger she is no longer working allegedly for the company was pretty good, other than her cringy tik tok dancing 💃 😅 it was fine working under her management. I felt like was gonna be able to keep my position with her.
The only con I had was the shift supervisors I was given put me through a very bizarre and unusual treatment at this starbuck till this day, I was high trying to interact with the community even on their starbucks social media pages they blocked me.
My cons at this locations were the shifts I felt like they made me quit or said a lot of bullshit to get me to leave after a few weeks. I didn't mind the rest of them were manageable. I was like wtf and not cool.
I ended up having the worst time trying to also transfer to another location because of bullying at the last one. Ended up being fired/ let go of at the liscened store because the mangement didn't like me.
I gave her bad poor reviews publically since I no longer work for the company. Which sucks cause my family needed the money and it was doing a lot good to my mental health having some job especially now.
Co worker clapped back at my review saying she is like offended all this bullshit. I am on the verge of taking my second job and never looking back as result.
Shit you took so damn seriously. 🙃 the place as a current mess. She was treating me like I was stupid the entire time, most of them shat on me because of my age.

My current one is good. Been with bux for his entire career. Actually looks out for his team. Been very flexible with my new job and what shifts I can work. Always has the SSV dictate where they want him when he is on the floor. Still holds us to account but is fair with how he deals with issues.
