Maybe an outside hire? Ask your SM.

No. I mean someone hired that has experience in management and is hired specifically for their experience in management and leadership but has no prior experience with Starbucks.

Yes, if they were hired to become a shift it is usually 1-2 weeks of barista basics training straight into SSV training. Same with outside SM, really speeds through the barista and shift part

Was probably hired as a shift or an ASM.
They have to go through all modules from the bottom up. And tbh when you are an outside hire and used to being in management the barista modules are boring lol So maybe they are just wanting to get to what their job actually is.
You can always ask too next time you see each other.

barista is not the only position you can apply for they were probably hired to be shift supervisor. usually if they’ve had prev management experience

Prob hired as a shift.

it she was hired specifically to be a SSV, but hen yeah it’s possible because they have to do barista basics, barista trainer training and finally the shift supervisor training. my store usually promotes instead of outside hires but it’s possible!

My manager did the exact same thing! New kid, been there a month, boom he's an ssv with keys. He's 20 no prior experience with management or supervisor. It's his second job ever. I'm pissed tbh
