hello fellow baristas will someone explain how to make just a plain espresso macchiato?? tia!

Step one: cue espresso shots

Step two: steam milk

Step three: use latte spoon to transfer hot milk foam to top espresso shots.

Step 4: place lid on espresso macchiato and enjoy!

Source: a regular at my store orders a triple espresso macchiato every damn day. You damn well know I learned quick how to make their drink right lol.

sweet! that’s what we did! we have a customer come through our drive and order one but man we couldn’t figure it out!!!!

It’s okay! I learned just today how to make an undertow based on how a customer described to me how they wanted theirs made 😂 you learn something new everyday

Put syrup if ordered, whatever milk or half-and-half in the bottom of a short cup, and run the shots over the back of a spoon into the cup. Obviously the milk will be cold.

If someone orders this, make sure you clarify with them what they're looking for. Starbucks bastardized the macchiato by making the caramel macchiato and then Dunkins kept the ball rolling with their own macchiato which is an upside down latte.
At a normal cafe it's just espresso and milk foam in an espresso cup

It’s the shots and two scoops of foam. Since it’s kinda made wrong all the time by baristas, so some customers (and barista) think it’s like a caramel macchiato without the Syrup and sauce. Thus they like it wet. Anyways, try to make it right the first time and if they say anything just readjust, not ur fault.

Starbucks’ espresso macchiatos don’t get milk. Just however many shots they order, and a single scoop of foam.

Was told and learned it was 2 scoops of foam
