We just got remodeled and there was a rumor they were putting in keypads when they did that. They didn’t though, no idea if theyre gonna do it in the future or not

Just went into my 1st store where I had to ask for a code. I feel like this is fucking disgusting. I hate it.

We are. My boyfriend's store changes passwords DAILY. They have a pretty bad homeless situation over three. We got ours after the second drug useage incident in our bathrooms.

We’ve had them for a while now. We also covered the plugs in the lobby& got rid of the patio trash can.

Yep! We’re high incident and our code isn’t just a generic one. We’ve had too many people doing drugs and other inappropriate things so all doors that the public could possibly get into have codes.

Yes. When i started working i constantly had to deal with homeless people doing drugs in our bathroom and trashing our lobby (the homeless people in our area are horrible i don’t know why.) We got them installed, didn’t actually put a code on them so you can just open it and walk in, and not a single homeless person has come back in our starbucks. It was genuinely surprising such a little deterrent made such a difference honestly

all 5 of my stores since 2017 have had them, a little obnoxious but nice to have regardless.

Wow .. I will never leave a tip again. This thread is hot garbage. Imagine denying someone a place to use the bathroom because their unhoused, or a drug addict. They don't deserve dignity? May you shit your pants violently in traffic 🖕

My store I give the restroom code to everyone also we got retrained with the new policy for restroom

i’ve had them since i started but my store is… not in a great area so it makes sense
heyitsme963 1 points 1y ago
We’ve had them forever. We change the code every morning and, as of a few weeks ago, have to walk customers to the bathroom and knock if they take longer than 10 minutes. There was a huge uptick in drug use, sink bathing, and bloody messes a few months ago.

We got ours about a month ago? Our restroom incidents went down to practically 0 overnight. They're cleaner, we need to restock them less often, and there's rarely someone in both restrooms at the same time so there's no need to wait. We were a little shocked because we don't gatekeep the code at all. No purchase necessary, just ask your nearest barista for the code.

Stores in loitering areas have them in our area on SanDiego. The code is on the receipt.

My region has been doing this for years now
