[Trenta Rant] I can't get my schedule changed due to an unexpected inconvenience (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by itsnnotdamiann
So I work at a Starbucks on weekends because of school and my extracurriculars (I'm 17 and a senior for reference). A little over a month ago I requested time off for GradBash because I'd be returning from Orlando around 6am on the 2nd of April and would have had an 8 hour shift later on that day. For over a month my school has stated that GradBash would be on the 1st & 2nd and I made the time off request and had it approved last month, it is currently spring break but the event organizer sent out an email today saying that due to an issue between the bus company and the school GradBash is being rescheduled from the 1st & 2nd to the 8th & 9th. Now I can't get my schedule changed (because it's made 3 weeks in advance) so that I can get back the day I would have had work and I have to work on the 9th because there's no one to cover my shift.

You could maybe see who’s not working on the days you requested off, being the 1st and second, and has shifts on the days you want off, being the 8th and 9th. You might be able to trade shifts.

I've been trying to do that all day just going down the phone list and seeing who might be able to trade with me but since everyone kinda plans their schedule around the work schedule no one is available because out of all of the part timers I work the longest shifts at 8hrs a shift

Did you try asking other stores in the area? Shift market place? The shift swap Facebook groups?

I'm not on Facebook but what's shift marketplace?

In the partner hours app. You can offer your shift up. Anyone who has been randomly borrowed into your building can take it not just partners who work at your store.

Have a friend who is on Facebook? People do someone’s post shifts for friends too.
