ok i have never called out before and this is my first job, am i actually supposed to call my store manager on the phone? bc it’s friday night and the whole thing seems weird am i allowed to text them instead (self.starbucksbaristas)

Call the store NOT the manager!! Its the shift on dutys job then.

call the store and let them know! you can find the number on google if you search for your store if you don’t have it. hope you’re doing okay!

They will most likely not be happy if you just text, calling is probably the most professional way to let them know you’re not coming in. It is uncomfy to call but you should just do it! :)

I agree to call the store and let the shift on duty know. If it's after hours, I'd say give your manager or the opening shift a text explaining the situation and then in the morning call the store to "officially " call out.

like everyone said, call the store. i’ve learned the hard way that texting is not a good way to cover your back when calling out/having a shift covered. you need to call the shift on duty and have them write it in the book. when it’s written in the book it’s kept on record and not just in someones iphone messages
