*try* not to stress too much! At the end of the day, it’s just coffee. Tell yourself this over and over until you believe it! Have fun! Also, stay wary of this thread bc it can be quite negative. Not all locations are nearly as bad with bad customers, haha! Also, learn the drinks by studying a little bit! Use cheat cards and ask for practice! You will be more likely to be on coffee bar if you do this quicker and show interest in it!

be annoying about asking questions, the more u clarify if ur doing things right the faster it all makes sense. also don’t be afraid to ask why we do things if it doesn’t make sense because it’ll help u get a better understanding of what ur goals are on the floor and it’ll make problem solving easier. i’ve been a partner for two years and to this day ask about how many shots or pumps a drink gets, we have other partners to rely on so there’s no reason to only use ur brain/memory. also if u close check the date stickers on everything on the bar while bringing back dishes bc the worst part of closing is when u double check the bar and see u have a chai and a mocha to clean and prep. goodluck! (if ur coworkers are shitty and get annoyed by u asking questions ask them if they would rather u do everything wrong)
