Cafe du monde has a chicory coffee. It’s very good actually. The root of the chicory plant is roasted and ground up and added to coffee and imparts a woodsy nutty flavor.

I've heard of using chicory instead of coffee beans, or mixed in with coffee beans (I actually really want to try that) but I've never heard of chicory flavored syrup.
