I work at a store almost an hour from my house. I was going to school in the area at the time I started at the bux so it made sense. Now I’m done with school, and no one at my store is able to work more than 20 hours a week, and gas in my area is close to $5 a gallon. I love my coworkers and I love love love my manager, I simply cannot afford to stay.
I’ve applied to approx. 10 locations closer to home, only three have replied. 2 straight up declined to interview. One sent me one email and then never again. I’m trying to do the leg work on my own before getting my SM involved just because I know she has a lot going on & don’t want to add more stress. I knew it was going to be difficult trying to switch stores/districts during the labor cuts, but I didn’t think it would be this bad? I have no write ups, I just got partner of the quarter, I’m never late, availability is open. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.
My current SM said Id have better luck going into the potential transfer stores as a customer, but then I have to spend money at Starbucks, which is not something I really want to do when I can hardly afford to human as it is.
