My guess is the "barista" may have been a regular barnes and noble employee who doesn't work at the cafe but probably got half ass crossed trained.

same thing with me but with a mocha. luckily before she walked away I remade it and handed her the right drink and took the mocha (basically hot chocolate) and gave it to another staff.
