Today someone bought an orange juice and then proceeded to (rudely) ask me if I could blend it with ice for them. She was very abrasive to begin with (she basically threw her sandwich at me and said "i want it warm"). I just straight up said "we can't do that". We also fully have a hagen daas right next door and at LEAST two smoothie places not a block away from our location. She tried to say "but other locations do that" and i just firmly said "we can't do that here, i apologize for the inconvenience" and went about my business. She seemed like the type that was pretty well off so i don't understand why she can't just, you know.... Buy a blender. Or walk the extra twenty feet to a place that GENUINELY SELLS SMOOTHIES. We aren't a smoothie shop. It certainly didn't help that her perfume was so strong i was getting a migraine from it and i was wearing my n95 through the whole interaction.
I'm not quitting bc i need the insurance, but am going to start telling more customers that i simply can't do things that either don't make sense or that are straight up not allowed. I don't get paid enough to deal with someone's aversion to doing basic tasks such as pressing a button on a blender and waiting a few seconds.
