That’s natural oil that is from the roasting process. Totally normal, but is a bit alarming. Kinda looks like an oil slick would. Some even say it’s sign of freshness, but I think it’s just dependent on the type of roast.

Sure! I’ve also been told it’s a sign of being freshly ground, cause that causes those oils to be released from the bean. Makes sense since we grind at the time of brew and it only gets to “live” for 30 minutes. Fruit flies have a longer lifespan than our coffee. 🤣

oil is normal and natural for some coffee beans, but also make sure you’re cleaning the coffee pitchers well because it could also be that.
