i had 4 old men who were definitely old enough to be my grandpa flirting with me on bar today. like, you’re a whole 50 years older than me. take your pike and LEAVE. they would follow me as i walked back forth behind the bar & try to talk to me. thankfully one of my shifts came over and got them to leave but i’m genuinely so sick of it.
i honestly wonder why this happens so often?? i see posts all the time about baristas getting hit on while just doing their job.

Omg! I went to study where I work a regular asked me if I worked there and when I went up to get my drink freaked out and was like “aRe YoU LeAVinG??” I sat down for a bit longer then moved where I was sitting he when leaving asked when I was working next….I have a horrible memory and Cannot remember what he looks like

at my last job one of my coworkers was an absolute creep. everyone knew it, he’d been reported, but nothing ever came of it. and people just accepted it!! they were like “oh yea that’s just how he is”. i was a hostess but part of my job was wiping down tables and stuff so i always had some cleaning spray on me and i just started spraying him anytime he came near me.
my manager pulled me aside and was like “hey, you can’t spray people with cleaning products” and i said “tell him to stop touching me. or fire him. until then he’s getting sprayed.” we compromised on me carrying around a spray bottle with just water…. but yea. not a great work environment but at least i got to spray pervs.

The older I get the ready I am to ***loudly*** state "you're making me uncomfortable" in hopes of making them equally uncomfortable - however I haven't had it happen at Sbux yet.
I'm glad your shift stepped in and handled it, harassment isn't part of the job description and we absolutely don't get paid enough to feel unsafe.
