Has anyone actually used the ASU perk? What are the requirements to do it and do you know if they pay for one or multiple degrees? And do the degrees transfer for medical school/masters programs?

hi! i am about to be a senior in psychology and bio at asu. You can take up to 135 credits- most degrees are 120 credits. I personally transferred from a state uni to asu, so I had the extra credits available for a dual degree. You need to work 520 hours every six months, which is about twenty hours per week (but you can work 40 one week and 0 the next it evens out as long as the grand total is 520). And they have pre vet and pre med so yea! I plan on transferring to a masters and later either pharmacy or psychiatry

Good luck to you!

I believe you are required to work 18 hours a week to get it. They will only pay for your first degree. I believe they will transfer for masters not sure about medical. You are earning a legit accredited degree as it will say from University of Arizona

20 hours a week and you are eligible they will only pay for your first bachelors

An addendum to OPs question:

I know they cover your first degree. But what if I have one already. Would they be able to tell? Could i just sign up for a degree and earn it anyway without them knowing I have a degree from out of state or do they do educational background checks

I believe the SCAP program only pays for your first bachelor's degree overall, not just if you are doing it through ASU. It's just like applying and going to a normal college so they get your transcripts and everything.
Difficult-Resist3780 1 points 1y ago
But transcripts are only got if they are sent? I could be wrong. I picture it as similar to a doctor, you can have the last doctor send over your records but if you dont they wont know your history. I dont know how either system work and am assuming

I don’t think they care if you already have a degree. I think there is way to contact asu through starbucks but im not sure where the number is
Specialist_Salt_507 3 points 1y ago
If they found out that you didn’t send your transcripts, you’d be expelled for fraud.

Do they pay for tuition upfront? I just got in yesterday but nervous because I am not sure if I fully understand how it works.

You apply for FAFSA and Starbucks covers whater fasfa doesn't cover. They pay up front! If you ever forget or want more info/details it's in the FAQ :)
Humble-Comparison190 1 points 1y ago
in addition to all of this, you have to attain the degree, no just classes
Big-Entrepreneur9086 1 points 1y ago
could I technically get two degrees? like two bachelors degrees? I have credits from another school, and I would have brought to graduate ASU with 2. Anyone know if I could do this?
3plants 1 points 1y ago
One thing to note is that it has to be your first bachelors (to complete) and once you graduate, your degree says nothing about it being an “online degree”. It just says what major you completed and from ASU! They have tonnnnns of programs so just check out the asu online majors

Also I am a part of the program! Message me if you have questions
