Hours got cut and now I can’t afford gas (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by adhd_in_pink
Thank you to Starbucks cooperate for cutting our hours. I am only scheduled 10 hours this week, 0 next week, and 5.75 the following week. I have barely enough to pay rent and I now have to overcharge on my credit card to afford gas to get to and from work plus to and from school. I’m in school almost six days a week and almost 10 hours a day so it’s not realistic to look for a different job right now. I’m supposed to be moving in September so I might have to start pulling out of those savings to pay for stuff.

Sorry for the rant, I know we’re all going through it right now and many others are in similar situations. Much love to everyone❤️

For the sake of your credit score, pull from your savings and use that to pay your necessary expenses. The time may come in September and your credit score is not good enough to qualify for that new place. I know it's hard, but avoid overdrafting and maxing out. I heard about some partner emergency assistance fund, not sure if they would help in a situation like this, but might want to look into it on the partner hub.

That would be the CUP fund, if you ever actually purchase anything from Starbucks as a partner I highly recommend rounding up for the CUP fund since it helps partners during financial stress

it sucks hearing partners go through this. I have a second job already and found out I was pregnant way too late, currently I’m on maternity leave. it hits differently when post partum depression is hitting and your savings are draining. 😔

I’m the same way & had to get a second job! At this point may have to get a third & never sleep! 100 every 2 weeks for last couple months has almost wiped out my savings! How do they think we can even by food & gas to get there less lone bills
