Tenured pay (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by knightof94
When the tenured pay raises happened I only received a 2% raise, not a 5% raise.

I was made to believe that was because I was at the upper limit of the pay scale in the area.

Well now that I’m transferring stores I have learned of multiple fellow shifts making more than I do now.

Is this worth bringing up with my new manager and my DM? Or just accept it and move on?

BRING IT UP! At best, you’ll be raised up, at worst, you’ll at least have a reason why and not just left to your own guesses.

Different markets have different pay rates. If you moved from rural small town to giant city the pay rate would be higher in the giant city. You could have been at max rate in the small town, but not max in the new location.

Moved from one suburb to another suburb. Practically the same market.

When you transfer stores they remove allll your raises, but if you’re moving to a store in an area with higher pay, good news is that you’ll be getting more pay. If your moving to an area with less pay, unfortunately you have to bite the bullet because you will go back to start pay. I work in a military base area so we get lots of transfers and people are always pushed when they see how much they make at our store compared to their old one. We are considered a “low cost” to live area so they pay us Pennies, when we actually live in the most expensive state to live in with the highest density of rich people 😍😍😍😍 even neighboring counties that I personally KNOW are cheaper to live in make more than our store/district so it’s very annoying
